“My car?” What does how my car look like have to do with how to organize and clean my home?
It has a lot to do with how your home and your life are running. I spend a lot of time in my car – at least it seems like it to me. I have found that how a person takes care of their car reflects how they take care of the rest of their “stuff”. It is a good first step to getting control of your stuff and establish some good habits.
First, just like at home, make a clean sweep of your vehicle and clear out the trash. Next, organize what you feel is essential to good life in a car. I suggest a car organizer that will hold things you use while in the auto. I personally keep a spiral notebook and trusty pen so I can make notes about ideas that I have or just a way to keep reminders about where I plan to go and how to get there. I have found that even with electronic devices that give directions, I find it helpful to write down basic instructions before I leave my driveway.
Another helpful idea is really good if you drive a SUV or Van. Since those don’t have trunk where you can put things out of sight, you can try a canvas tote. Put essentials in there so they are not bumping around in the back. For safety, you can tether it down with cords or such.
If I can influence you to do anything – I would influence you to drive safely and keep your mind on your driving. Please, do not text while you are driving. If it is that important, pull over and text away. It is not worth your life, which may be the price you pay.
